Anna Ventura is an artist and designer born in Barcelona currently residing in Devon, where she works from her shared workshop, Garden Mill Studio in Kingsbridge.
Anna studied a combined degree of Fine Arts and Graphic Design at the University of Barcelona, and in 2010, she moved to Devon to complete her degree with a final project in Illustration at The University of Plymouth. This unique career gave Anna her flare, a mix of knowledge and techniques in classic Arts, as well as deep understanding of computer design to apply to any modern art project.
For over a decade, Anna’s career comprised a combination of Art development, creative tutoring, graphic design and events coordination, including directorship of her own gallery for over 5 years representing more than 50 local artists. However, Anna had to give up her businesses when she developed coordination and dexterity issues in 2021, which continued to evolve over the years culminating in a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2024. After learning to live with her new reality, Anna reinvented herself. She started to work in ceramics to keep her hands from deteriorating and found a new passion for clay, which she feeds as much as she can, while she also develops a new career in accountancy (her years of running her own business gave her the skills to earn a living from her mental agility when her hands aren’t reliable). Now, she sells from her shared studio website ( www.gardenmillstudio.co.uk ) and takes part in small shows when she has developed enough work to exhibit in between her other work commitments.
