The mineral landscapes project departs from studies of stones and pebbles from the South Hams of Devon and result in paintings that replicate their mineral colours. To truly reflect the tones of the area, actual mineral pigments have been used in their raw form as well as using the best quality paint made with natural pigments as well.
Whilst the project has been originally inspired solely by the colours of stones, their smoothness also tells a story of resilience. And so that power the surroundings have afflicted time after time have also been extrapolated by integrating the roughness of the atmospherical phenomenon with elements of movement within the depiction.
